Tools Needed to Lift a Truck

You must have the right tools to do the job correctly. These are the tools you’ll need to install a lift kit on your truck:

  • Vehicle jacks and jack stands
  • Socket wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Lug wrench
  • Screwdrivers
  • Pry bar
  • Hammer

The pry bar and a hammer are for any old parts you struggle with removing. You might also want to have some WD-40 close by to help loosen tight joints. How Do I Lift My Truck? A Step-by-Step Guide

  5. Take off all of the old U-bolts, shocks, and springs.

  7. Use a torque wrench to make sure that all the pieces and bolts are tightened firmly according to the instructions.
  8. Attach your old tires, or attach a new set of bigger tires if you want.
  9. Slowly lower your truck, bringing it down bit by bit, keeping it as level as possible as you get it near the ground.
